Mat-Su Valley Sales Activity for W/E May 1, 2009
Here are the single-family home sales numbers for the week ending May 1, 2009.
As expected the closed sales are up by quite a bit. There's always an end-of-the-month rush to get sales closed and recorded. Sellers like to close at month's end because they don't have to make another house payment, they lose money if they have an FHA loan. Buyers prefer it for reasons ranging from rental agreements expiring to reduction of up-front closing costs in the form of prepaid interest.
